“Dr. Michele,” as she is fondly known by her clients, graduated from Oregon State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. After working in a couple local clinics in the area she started House Calls for Pets Veterinary Services, LLC in November of 2005. She then opened Coburg Veterinary Clinic in March of 2007. Dr. Michele originally from Rochester, New York moved to Oregon in 1980 after living in the Adirondack mountains for five years. She has two grown children and one grandson, and now lives in the Coburg hills with her “furry children.” She has four dogs, “Kiya” a young purebred Leonberger she hopes to show and breed someday, “Buster” a young pet store rescue who claims to be a Lhasa Apso (he really looks like a mini sheepdog), “Scruffy” a Chinese crested powder-puff who was rescued from an owner who didn’t have the time for him, and “Ellie” a poodle mix who she rescued from an owner who couldn’t care for her and pieced her back together after being torn up by pitbulls. She also has six cats, “One eyed Jack”, the master of the house, was a rescue who was brought into the clinic where she was working at the time. Only a few weeks old he had been viscously attacked, she put him back together, having to remove one eye and couldn’t resist keeping the feisty little guy. “Eddie” was her daughter’s cat who found a new home with Dr. Michele after her daughter couldn’t move him with her. She also has four sweet cats who help control the rodent population on her property, “Bonnie” and “Clyde” and “Rascal” and “Teensy Taya” (“TT”). At one time she was an avid gardener and hopes to someday have the time for it again. Meanwhile she limits her green thumb to her house plants. In her spare time, (not much these days as she spends most of her time at the clinic), she enjoys spending on her property with her animals and with her family, camping, fishing and hiking.
